UK safer to invest, Wales gets Sexy!
Hot Property News, 2007
The UK is a safer place to invest than continental Europe and Wales is gaining a new "sexy" image when it comes to purchasing property, according to a UK Property market expert.
Andy Smith, managing director of 1st Property Investment, claims that Wales is experiencing similar levels of property growth to London and the south east, boosted by development and investment by celebrities such as Charlotte Church and Catherine Zeta Jones in the country.
According to the property specialist, the UK is often a safer market to invest in than countries like Spain, where Britons can run into legal and ownership problems as a result of different processes and regulations.
Mr Smith pointed out that the top three places witnessing Property Investment market growth over the past five years have all been in Wales, with many people born in Wales returning there as the economy booms.
"Wales has got an economy," he explained. "It's actually sexy to live in places like Cardiff now. Whereas fifteen years ago, everyone from Cardiff upped sticks and moved to London."
Limited land mass, low initial outlay, a "robust" legal system and low risk investment opportunities are increasing the amount of Overseas Property investment in the UK, Mr Smith suggests.
